What Causes Hard Water Spots on Windows?

Understand water hardness, how to describe glass spotting, and what LumiView reviews before quoting treatment.

What is hard water?

USGS describes water hardness mainly in terms of dissolved calcium and magnesium. Its guide discusses residue that can appear on glassware. This explains the general concept; it does not establish the hardness of water at a particular property or identify every window stain.

What information helps assess the spots?

Send close and wide photos and note sprinkler exposure or nearby pool areas. Describe how long the marks have been present and any previous treatment. Photos help review the scope, but may not distinguish surface deposits from permanent damage.

Is complete stain removal guaranteed?

No. LumiView reviews severity and a glass-compatible process. Mineral etching may be permanent, and heavy restoration is quoted after review. Check the glass and coating manufacturer’s care guidance before trying an aggressive treatment.
